What’s on at the Clothing Bank during the holidays

Summer is in full swing and we at the Clothing Bank are not idle! Here is a summary of what happened during the holidays and how we worked together to help those who need it most.

The new project “We’re in it together”

In July, we worked hard to prepare a new and very important project that brings together the Clothing Bank, the Food Bank and the Furniture Bank. The project is called “We’re in this together” and aims to provide comprehensive support to families and individuals in need. We are honoured that the First Lady of the Czech Republic, Eva Pavlova, has taken over the patronage of this project. We believe that by working together and with the support of the public we can create better conditions for those who find themselves in difficult life situations.

Crisis packages for the needy
During the summer months, we delivered crisis packages with clothing to clients of the Social Department of the Prague 6 City Hall, to People in Need in Chomutov and to people serving sentences in Bělušice Prison. Our help was also directed to individuals who contacted us directly via the online form on our website. We try to ensure that the help gets to where it is needed most, and as quickly as possible.

Amazon volunteers
A group of four volunteers from Amazon have been a great support to us. These great people helped us sort through 1.5 tons of clothing and other non-textile aid that Amazon donated. Their dedication and willingness to help was inspiring, and thanks to them we were able to distribute the donations to those in need more quickly.

Maximum use of the mailroom
Thanks to individual donors and their generosity, we received more than 500 packages of donated clothing through Mailroom in July. This service allows us to accept donations from all over the Czech Republic without donors having to visit our Prague office in person. In addition, we cover the postage costs, so you can donate clothes from anywhere at no extra cost. Just report the code at the drop-off point: 98716876.
